Before March 2011, only a few have ever heard of Poonam Pandey. She is a young Indian model that mostly known for her bikini calendar, where she produces around 27 calendar shots for the year 2011. But when Indian national cricket team played in 2011 World Cup, her name was suddenly rose.
Poonam Pandey made a promise to do a public stripping for Indian cricket players and fans if the team manage to win the title. We don’t know if the players were encouraged by the statement, but they were able to won the World Cup after bear Pakistan in the final, which is only their second title after 1983 victory.
Unfortunately, Poonam Pandey hasn’t fulfilled her pledge yet. Besides had to be hospitalized for an operation to remove kidney stones, she also gives the reason that Indian law prohibits public nudity, and that she’s a law abiding citizen.
It doesn’t mean that the 20-year-old want to deny her words,
“Ya, I am ready to go nude even today, provided I get a green signal from the authorities. I am a law abiding citizen! I cannot do anything which will bring me into bad books. I stand by my commitment. I am now requesting the media to ask the BCCI to give me permission.”
She suggested that BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) choose another location such as Paris for her striptease to avoid controversy.
